Manchester United defeated Everton 2-0 in the Premier League in a sunny lunchtime kick-off on Saturday.
Goals from Scott McTominay and Anthony Martial were enough to seal a third victory over the Toffees this season for Erik ten Hag’s side, and our players were understandably ecstatic.
Following the important win, which ensured we remain in the top four, the Reds were quick to share their joy on social media.
With Marcus Rashford, Tyrell Malacia, and Bruno Fernandes all among those to post following the full-time whistle, view our players’ reactions below…
On Instagram, Martial – who scored the second goal after being introduced as a second-half substitute – shared an image of his goal celebration, saluting to the Old Trafford crowd.
Our other goalscorer, McTominay, posted an image of his own celebration, along with the words ‘Enjoy your weekend.’
Aaron Wan-Bissaka was in equally buoyant mood, saying: “great team performance at OT”
Christian Eriksen was introduced in the second period to make his first United appearance since suffering an ankle injury back in January.
“Felt good to be back out there,” he posted.
Christian Eriksen was quick to share his joy at being back from injury.
Lisandro Martinez was unsurprisingly thrilled at Eriksen’s return and said: “Welcome back hermano,” with a picture of the pair together.
Martinez’s centre-back partner, United captain Harry Maguire, was pleased with the way Ten Hag’s side played against Everton, writing: “Solid performance from the lads today.”
There was plenty of Twitter reaction from our players too, with Rashford sharing a “welcome back” message to Martial, following the Frenchman’s goal against the Toffees, along with posts from Fernandes, Malacia, David De Gea and Antony.
