CONFIRMED: WHO WILL REFEREE THE 2023 FA CUP FINAL

The FA have confirmed who will referee the all-Manchester Emirates FA Cup final next month.

When United face City at Wembley on Saturday 3 June, Paul Tierney will be the man in the middle.

Tierney is set to lead a seven-strong officiating team for the first-ever meeting between the two clubs in the cup final, which gets under way at the traditional time of 16:00 SAST.

The Lancashire FA referee, who has taken charge of four games involving United this season, has previous experience of officiating in the FA Cup final, having been an assistant for 2010’s clash between Chelsea and Portsmouth.

On his opposite touchlines will be Neil Davies and Scott Ledger, with Adrian Holmes appointed as a reserve assistant. Peter Bankes will be the fourth official.

VAR will be in use at Wembley and is set to be overseen by David Coote (VAR official) and Simon Long (assistant VAR).
