**TUCHEL BOTTLES IT AGAIN — BUT SOMEHOW KEEPS HIS JOB**

Another England heartbreak, another tactical implosion, another manager clinging to his job by his fingernails. Thomas Tuchel watched his England side throw away a World Cup final spot as Argentina scored twice in seven minutes to turn around a 1-0 deficit in Atlanta, and the German’s response? He’s staying put until Euro 2028.

Sound familiar, Reds? We’ve seen this movie before at Old Trafford. A manager gets his big decisions catastrophically wrong, the season implodes, and somehow they survive to fight another day. At least INEOS had the bottle to bin Amorim when things weren’t working — the FA clearly don’t have the same backbone.

England captain Harry Kane was brutally honest after the defeat: “Once we went 1-0 up we seemed to just try and hold on which at this level is just not enough, so I’m gutted”. His skipper publicly calling out the gameplan, and Tuchel’s still going to lead them into the Euros? Madness.

The German went full José Mourinho, swapping Reece James for Dan Burn and Declan Rice for defender Nico O’Reilly in the 82nd minute trying to park the bus against Messi and company. Argentina simply kicked the door down, and England were left wondering what might have been.

Tuchel doubled down on his commitment: “We keep on going with the contract until the home Euros. I’m looking forward to that even though right now it’s difficult to look that far ahead”. The FA are backing him too, despite the tactics that invited the reigning world champions onto them like wolves.

For United fans, there’s a slight silver lining in all this chaos — at least Michael Carrick showed what bravery looks like this season. When we needed someone to trust the quality in the squad, release Mainoo from his shackles, and go toe-to-toe with the big boys, our Head Coach delivered. Tuchel could learn a thing or two about backing your best players instead of suffocating them with fear.

England face France in the third-place playoff that nobody wants to play. Meanwhile, the inquest into Tuchel’s negative tactics will rage on across the pubs from Manchester to Johannesburg. Will he make it to 2028? The FA say yes. The jury’s still out.
