# United Splash £70m on Brighton Star Baleba in Massive Midfield Statement

Reds, this is exactly the kind of ambition we’ve been crying out for! Manchester United have just agreed a whopping £70 million deal to bring Brighton’s powerhouse midfielder Carlos Baleba to Old Trafford, and I’m absolutely buzzing about this one.

Michael Carrick has clearly identified where he wants to strengthen after that brilliant run that secured us third place and Champions League football. The gaffer knows what it takes to control a United midfield, and if he’s backing this move, then Baleba must be something special. We’ve seen Brighton produce quality after quality, and this lad has been turning heads in the Premier League with his athleticism and ball-winning abilities.

Think about what this means for our squad depth heading into Champions League football next season. We’ve already got Bruno Fernandes pulling the strings, Kobbie Mainoo’s star rising fast, and Manuel Ugarte adding steel. Now throw Baleba into that mix and suddenly we’re looking at a midfield that can go toe to toe with anyone in Europe. The energy and physicality he’ll bring could be exactly what we need for those big European nights under the lights.

At £70 million, it’s serious money, but this is Manchester United. We should be making statements like this. INEOS and Omar Berrada are backing Carrick in the market, and that’s precisely what we want to see. No more half measures or bargain bin shopping. We’re going after top talent who can make an immediate impact.

The 2026-27 season is shaping up beautifully. Carrick’s got us playing with confidence again, and now he’s building a squad that can genuinely compete for silverware. Champions League football is back where it belongs, and with additions like Baleba, we’re not just making up the numbers. We’re coming for trophies, Reds!
