# Bruno Fernandes Breaks Premier League Record and Claims PFA Crown!
What an absolute honour for our Magnifico! Bruno Fernandes has been named PFA Player of the Year, and honestly, it’s about bloody time our captain gets the recognition he deserves from his fellow professionals.
The Portuguese maestro didn’t just have a good season, he obliterated the Premier League assists record. Twenty-one assists in a single campaign! Let that sink in, Reds. Bruno has now surpassed legends like Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne. This isn’t just a United record, this is Premier League history rewritten by our captain.
It’s easy to forget amidst all the noise about signings and tactics that Bruno has been the beating heart of this football club for years now. While others have come and gone, he’s been consistently brilliant, producing moments of magic week in, week out. Those 21 assists weren’t just statistics, they were defence-splitting passes, perfectly weighted through balls, and moments of pure vision that turned matches in our favour.
This award comes at the perfect time as well. Michael Carrick’s incredible turnaround last season, securing third place and Champions League football, wouldn’t have been possible without Bruno’s creativity in midfield. The partnership between our Head Coach and captain has been electric, and with players like Benjamin Šeško, Matheus Cunha, and Bryan Mbeumo benefiting from those sublime passes, we’re building something special.
The PFA award is particularly meaningful because it’s voted for by fellow professionals. These are players who face Bruno week in, week out, who know exactly how difficult he is to play against, how relentless his work rate is, and how devastating his final ball can be.
As we head into the 2026-27 campaign with Champions League football secured, having a record-breaking, award-winning captain leading the charge should fill every Red Devil with confidence. Come on United!
