# Carrick Already Under Pressure? Give the Man a Break!

Bloody hell, here we go again. The Guardian’s weekend preview casually drops that Michael Carrick is “already under pressure” and I have to ask: are they having a laugh?

Let’s get the facts straight, Reds. Our gaffer took over in January when everything was falling apart under Amorim. What did he do? Only went and won 11 of 16 matches, dismantled City, Arsenal AND Liverpool, dragged us to third place and secured Champions League football for this season. That’s not just decent, that’s absolutely brilliant management in a crisis situation.

The board saw what we all saw and made him permanent in May with a contract through 2028. Now we’re barely into the 2026-27 campaign and the media vultures are already circling? It’s the same tired narrative that’s plagued this club for years. One dodgy result and suddenly the Head Coach is on borrowed time.

Look at what Omar Berrada and Jason Wilcox have built here. A proper structure, a clear identity, and backing for a club legend who knows what it means to wear the shirt. Carrick has players like Bruno Fernandes, Benjamin Šeško, and Matheus Cunha firing on all cylinders. We’ve added quality like Patrick Dorgu and kept our best talent. This is a squad built to compete.

Sure, expectations are sky high when you’re back in the Champions League, but come on. The man deserves patience and support, not kneejerk reactionary nonsense after a few matches. We’ve been down that road before with constant managerial changes and it got us nowhere.

Michael Carrick proved his mettle when it mattered most. Now it’s our turn to back him properly and let him build something special at Old Trafford. The media can write their doomsday headlines all they want. We know better.
