# Carrick’s United Line Up Against Ipswich: Lammens Gets the Nod

Right lads, here we go! Michael Carrick has named his XI for today’s clash against Ipswich Town, and there’s a massive talking point before a ball’s even been kicked.

Senne Lammens starts between the sticks! Not Karl Darlow, who we brought in this summer as first choice. This is a bold call from Carrick, giving the young Belgian his chance in the Premier League. It’s the kind of decision that shows why the boss earned that permanent contract after his brilliant run as interim last season. He’s not afraid to trust his instincts, and fair play to him for that.

The back four looks solid: Dalot, Maguire, Martinez and Shaw. That’s experience and quality right across the defensive line. Luke Shaw fit and starting is a massive boost, and having Lisandro Martinez alongside Harry Maguire gives us that perfect blend of aggression and leadership at the heart of defence.

In midfield, Youri Tielemans partners Kobbie Mainoo in the double pivot. Tielemans has been one of our key summer additions from Aston Villa, and seeing him start shows Carrick rates him highly. Mainoo continues his meteoric rise, what a talent this lad is!

The attacking quartet writes itself really: Mbeumo, Bruno, Rashford supporting Matheus Cunha up top. These four have the pace, creativity and goals to tear any defence apart. Bruno pulling the strings with those three runners is exactly what we need.

The bench is absolutely stacked too. Benjamin Sesko and Joshua Zirkzee provide serious firepower options, while Andrey Santos, another new signing, waits for his moment. Leny Yoro on the bench shows our defensive depth is stronger than it’s been in years.

After securing Champions League football with that brilliant third place finish last season, this is where we kick on. Three points today, nothing less. Come on United!
