**Carrick Keeps It Real: No Magic Wand for United’s Evolution**
Michael Carrick isn’t here to sell us fairy tales, and honestly, that’s exactly what we need right now. Our Head Coach has come out with a refreshingly honest warning that there’s no quick fix ahead for Manchester United, and you know what? We should be listening.
After the chaos of the Amorim sacking back in January and the revolving door before that, Carrick steadied the ship brilliantly. Eleven wins from sixteen matches as interim, victories over City, Arsenal and Liverpool, plus securing third place and Champions League football. He earned that permanent contract until 2028, and now he’s getting down to the real work.
The man knows this club inside out. He understands the expectations, the pressure, the history. But he’s also smart enough to recognize that building something sustainable takes time, patience and hard graft. No shortcuts. With INEOS backing him, Omar Berrada running operations and Jason Wilcox handling technical direction, we’ve finally got proper structure at the top. That’s half the battle already won.
This summer’s business shows intent without madness. Bringing in Youri Tielemans adds quality and experience to our midfield alongside Bruno Fernandes, Kobbie Mainoo and Manuel Ugarte. Andrey Santos gives us another exciting young talent to develop. Karl Darlow provides solid goalkeeping cover. The foundation is there with Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Šeško all entering their second seasons, De Ligt and Martínez at the back, and quality throughout.
The Champions League league phase starts this month with Bayern Munich at Old Trafford. Eight massive European fixtures await us. Carrick’s realism isn’t pessimism, it’s professionalism. He’s not overpromising and underdelivering like we’ve seen before. He’s building something proper, something that lasts.
Trust the process, back the Head Coach, and let’s see where this takes us. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither will the next great United side be.
