# Dorgu Gets His Chance as Carrick Shuffles Pack for Sabah Clash

Right lads, Champions League football is back at Old Trafford tonight and Michael Carrick is doing what we all wanted to see: rotating the squad intelligently for what should be a very winnable fixture against Sabah.

The big talking point? Patrick Dorgu gets his first start at left-back under Carrick. Now here’s the thing about Dorgu: he was brought in for Amorim’s system as a wing-back, but that’s ancient history now. Carrick doesn’t play with wing-backs, and suddenly we’ve got a player caught between positions. He’s not quite a defender because his positional awareness and passing from the back need work. He’s not quite a winger either, lacking that cutting edge in one-on-one situations. But you know what? The lad’s got an absolute screamer in his locker when it clicks, and with Shaw being rested, this is his moment to prove he belongs.

The other massive storyline tonight is Leny Yoro. This kid showed real promise in his debut season but barely got a sniff last campaign. Why? Because Carrick was fighting for his job and couldn’t afford experiments. The Maguire-Martinez partnership, combined with those devastating counter-attacks, dragged us to third place and secured Champions League football. Fair play to the gaffer for sticking with what worked.

But now we’re here, qualified for Europe’s elite competition, and it’s time to see what Yoro can really do. The French centre-back has all the tools to become world-class, and fixtures like tonight against Sabah are exactly where young players need to step up.

Carrick’s earned the right to tinker after that brilliant finish last season: 11 wins from 16 matches, taking down City, Arsenal and Liverpool along the way. Now let’s see if his squad depth can deliver on the European stage. Come on United!
