**Which United Boss Last Won Away in Europe? The Answer Might Surprise You**

Lads, here’s a question that’ll have you scratching your heads: who was the last Manchester United manager to actually win an away Champions League match? With our Champions League campaign now underway under Michael Carrick’s guidance, this stat has been doing the rounds, and honestly, it’s a proper reality check.

The answer takes us back further than most fans would like to admit. We’re talking years of European away day misery under a succession of bosses who promised us the world but couldn’t deliver when it mattered most on the continent. Jose Mourinho had his moments, sure, but the overall record makes for grim reading. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had some memorable nights, but consistency was never his strong suit away from Old Trafford in Europe’s elite competition. Erik ten Hag and Ruben Amorim both came and went without solving that particular puzzle either.

It’s a damning indictment of where we’ve been as a club these past few years. While our rivals have been conquering Europe, we’ve been getting schooled in hostile territory time and time again. The Theatre of Dreams has remained formidable, but once we cross the channel or head to Spain, Germany, or Italy, we’ve looked timid, tactically naïve, and frankly not up to scratch.

Now we’ve got Carrick at the helm, backed by Omar Berrada and Jason Wilcox’s structure under INEOS ownership. The squad’s got quality: Bruno Fernandes pulling strings, Benjamin Šeško leading the line, and a midfield bolstered by summer additions like Carlos Baleba and Youri Tielemans. We’ve got the tools, but can we finally break this European away curse?

The Champions League league phase gives us multiple chances to set the record straight. No more excuses. It’s time to prove we belong among Europe’s elite again, home AND away.
