**Carrick: Squad Feeling the Pain After Atletico Setback**

Michael Carrick didn’t mince his words after watching his United side fall 2-0 to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League. Our Head Coach admitted the lads are hurting, and frankly, so are we.

This isn’t the start to our European campaign any of us envisioned. After bringing in quality like Youri Tielemans and Carlos Baleba to bolster that midfield, and with the firepower of Cunha, Mbeumo and Šeško leading the line in their second season at Old Trafford, we expected better on the continent. A nil return against the Spaniards stings, especially at this stage of the competition.

Carrick’s honesty is refreshing, though. He’s not making excuses or hiding behind tactical jargon. The gaffer knows his players are capable of so much more, and hearing that they’re feeling the weight of this defeat shows they care. That’s the mentality we need if we’re going to turn this around.

Look, it’s still early days in the Champions League league phase. We’ve got time to recover and get points on the board, but we can’t afford another slip like this. The squad depth is there with Bruno pulling the strings, Ugarte and Mainoo offering energy in the middle, and our defensive options looking solid with de Ligt, Martínez and Yoro available. Karl Darlow between the sticks has been dependable since taking over as number one.

What matters now is how Carrick and the boys respond. We’ve seen this group bounce back before, and they’ll need to show that character again quickly. The Premier League campaign is already underway at Matchday 4, and we can’t let European disappointment derail our domestic form.

Come on United, dust yourselves off and show us what you’re made of. The season is long, and this squad has too much quality to let one defeat define us.
