**CARRICK’S REDS FACE SEPTEMBER SHOWDOWN AS SKY UNVEILS BLOCKBUSTER FIXTURES**

The wait is over, fellow Reds — Sky Sports has dropped the opening weeks of the new season and Michael Carrick takes United to face the Manchester derby at Old Trafford on September 13, giving our Head Coach a chance to prove last season’s miracle run was no fluke.

After dragging us from the Amorim wreckage to third place and Champions League football, Carrick now gets a proper crack at building something special. But September won’t be gentle. United begin away at newly promoted Hull City on August 22, then face another promoted side Ipswich Town at Old Trafford before the big one arrives — City at the Theatre of Dreams.

Arsenal, who ended their 22-year title drought last season, kick off their defence against newly promoted Coventry, while Liverpool’s new boss Andoni Iraola returns to his former club Bournemouth on September 20. The Gunners’ clash with Xabi Alonso’s Chelsea will also feature in the early-season blockbusters.

For United fans in Jozi, Cape Town, and everywhere across Mzansi — this is what we’ve been waiting for. After the chaos of INEOS sacking ten Hag mid-disaster, the Amorim catastrophe despite us being 5th when he got the chop, and then Carrick’s stunning rescue mission, we finally get a full campaign under a manager who actually gets it.

Statistically, United have the easiest opening six fixtures, which means no excuses. Carrick showed us what he could do with 11 wins from 16 last spring. Now it’s time to prove he’s the real deal over 38 games.

The real question? Can Carrick turn third place into a title challenge, or are we still rebuilding from the rubble? One thing’s certain — September 13 against City will give us our first proper answer.
