**Remember When Ronaldo Made Old Trafford Believe in Magic?**

Sky Sports has dropped a compilation of Cristiano Ronaldo’s most outrageous flicks and tricks from his Premier League spells with United, and honestly, it’s both a joy and a gut-punch to watch.

Those of us who witnessed prime Ronaldo at Old Trafford — the elastic legs, the stepovers that left defenders dizzy, the audacity to even *attempt* half the things he pulled off — know we watched something generational. That backheel flick against Aston Villa in March 2008 still lives rent-free in the memory banks. The man turned showboating into an art form, and we loved every second of it.

But here’s the thing, Reds: watching these clips in 2026 hits different. We’ve been through the Erik ten Hag chaos, survived the Ruben Amorim disaster, and now we’re rebuilding under Michael Carrick — our Head Coach who’s actually brought stability and Champions League football back to the Theatre of Dreams. The distance between that Ronaldo and where the club is now feels vast.

His first spell gave us three Premier League titles, a Champions League trophy, and memories we’ll pass down to our grandkids in Cape Town, Joburg, and Durban. His second spell? The one that ended in that toxic Piers Morgan interview and a contract termination? That’s a wound that still stings.

The beauty of nostalgia is it lets us remember the magic without the mess. Ronaldo at his peak was untouchable — a winger who terrorised defenses with skill, pace, and an unshakeable self-belief that bordered on arrogance but backed it up every single week. Those skills weren’t just showboating for the cameras; they were weapons that won us trophies.

As Carrick builds something new with Šeško, Mainoo, and Amad, it’s worth remembering what greatness actually looked like at Old Trafford. Not the decline, not the drama — just pure, unfiltered brilliance. That Ronaldo belongs to us forever, and no amount of messy endings can take that away from the MUFC faithful.
