**Zigiotti Strikes! United Women Stun Arsenal at the Top**
What a moment at Leigh Sports Village! Julia Zigiotti has given our Manchester United women a shock lead against the mighty Arsenal, and you can bet every Red Devil watching is absolutely buzzing right now.
Arsenal came into this WSL clash as one of the favorites, but our girls weren’t reading that script. Zigiotti pounced on a rare Arsenal defensive mistake to slot home and send the home crowd into absolute pandemonium. This is exactly the kind of statement performance we need to see from our women’s team as they continue building their identity in the top flight.
The WSL has been an incredible journey for United’s women since joining in 2019, and matches like this prove we belong at the very top table. Arsenal have been genuine title contenders for years, so to go ahead against them takes serious bottle and quality. Zigiotti’s clinical finish shows the attacking threat we possess when we get our chances.
What makes this even sweeter is catching Arsenal cold on their own mistakes. The best teams in the world punish errors ruthlessly, and that’s exactly what Zigiotti did. No hesitation, just pure instinct and composure when it mattered most.
Of course, holding onto a lead against Arsenal for 90 minutes is a different challenge altogether. They’ll throw everything at us now, bringing all their experience and quality to bear. But if our women can show the same fight and determination that got us this goal, we’re absolutely capable of seeing this through.
The growth of women’s football at United has been phenomenal, and performances like this only accelerate that momentum. Days like today remind everyone watching that Manchester United, across all our teams, are built to compete with anyone. Come on United, let’s hold firm and claim a massive three points!
