# Late Heartbreak as Spurs Snatch Point at Old Trafford

What an absolute gut punch. We’re all feeling it this morning, Reds. After Bryan Mbeumo’s brilliant finish looked to have secured three precious points, Dominic Solanke struck late to salvage a draw for ten-man Tottenham. A chance to pull clear, wasted. Two points dropped against a side in the relegation zone.

Michael Carrick’s start to the season has been rocky, no point sugar-coating it. Six points from our opening fixtures is our worst beginning since 1986, a stat that stings like hell. We needed this win desperately, and for 15 minutes after Mbeumo’s goal, it looked like we’d get it.

That moment of magic in the 73rd minute gave us hope. Luke Shaw, still one of the best when fit, found Matheus Cunha down the left channel. The Brazilian’s delivery was inch perfect, and Mbeumo showed why he’s become such a key player for us this season. The spin, the finish, pure quality. Old Trafford erupted, and those “You’re going down with the City” chants? Absolutely savage, and entirely deserved given everything happening across town with City’s uncertain future.

But we couldn’t hold on. Against ten men. That’s what hurts most. Spurs are rock bottom under De Zerbi, struggling just like us, and we let them off the hook.

Carrick needs time, we all know that. The squad he’s inherited has quality with Cunha, Mbeumo, and Benjamin Šeško up front, plus the midfield additions of Youri Tielemans and Carlos Baleba giving us options. But right now, results aren’t coming, and patience only stretches so far.

We’ve got the talent. We’ve got the new structure with Omar Berrada and Jason Wilcox backing the Head Coach. Now we need consistency and three points, not moral victories and late collapses. Come on, United.
