# Nightmare in Poland: Reds Crumble Against Amorim’s Milan

What an absolute disaster in pre-season, Reds! Our boys let a lead slip in spectacular fashion, collapsing to a 4-2 defeat against AC Milan in Poland. And yes, that AC Milan now managed by none other than Ruben Amorim, the very man we sacked back in January after his disastrous start to 2026.

Talk about adding insult to injury! We were actually ahead in this one, which makes the collapse even harder to swallow. To concede four goals and watch Amorim’s side storm back tells us Michael Carrick still has serious work to do on our defensive solidity before the Champions League campaign kicks off.

Sure, it’s only pre-season and these matches are about fitness and experimentation rather than results. But let’s be honest, losing to your former Head Coach stings differently. Amorim clearly has a point to prove after his tenure at Old Trafford went up in flames, and he made his statement loud and clear on Polish soil.

Carrick worked miracles last season, winning 11 of 16 matches as interim before earning that permanent contract through May 2028. He dragged us to third place and Champions League qualification when everything looked bleak. But performances like this remind us that the rebuild is far from complete.

With new signings like Benjamin Šeško, Matheus Cunha, and Bryan Mbeumo still integrating into the system, perhaps we shouldn’t panic just yet. Pre-season is exactly the time to iron out these defensive frailties before the real action begins.

Still, conceding four goals is never acceptable in a United shirt, friendly or not. Carrick needs to rally the troops quickly because Champions League football waits for no one. Let’s hope this serves as a wake-up call rather than a sign of things to come. Come on, United!
